For many of the people we work with, a pet is more than just a family member. Pets can be a source of stress relief, support, and comfort. Rocky, pictured here as a puppy, has the important role of being an emotional support animal for his owner. Recently while out with his “parents”, Rocky slipped out of his collar and was hit by a car. The driver fled the scene, not stopping to see if Rocky was okay. After taking Rocky to the vet, it was determined that he needed a tail amputation to prevent the further development of life threatening medical issues. Even after borrowing money from family and fundraising, Rocky’s “parents” were unable to pay for the entire surgery. Rocky’s family then turned to FACE Foundation for help.
Thanks to the faithful supporters of our Save-A-Life Program and a generous discount from our veterinary partner, PETSURG, Rocky was able to get the surgery he needed.
