Meet Petey, a two year old Pit Bull Terrier! While walking outside, a rattlesnake ended up biting Petey! As with humans, rattlesnake bites to pets are emergencies because their bite can result in serious injury or death if not treated immediately. Petey’s “dad” was recently laid off due to the pandemic and didn’t have a way to pay for Petey’s emergency care. To imagine losing his companion or watch him suffer broke his heart. After learning about his financial hardship, the staff at Veterinary Specialty Hospital, Sorrento Valley referred him to FACE for help. Our after-hours team received a complete application, which they reviewed and approved within half an hour. Thanks to FACE’s quick work, the wonderful vets at VSH, and our Life Sponsors, Howard Finkelstein & Lorin LeGrant, Petey received the life-saving treatment he needed!
