Meet Military Max, the adorable Dachshund! One day Max wasn’t acting like his usual happy and playful self. His ‘mom’ Rachel noticed he was lethargic, and not eating. Nervously, she took him to his veterinarian and learned that Max was suffering from a slipped disc, and would need an extensive, expensive emergency surgery. Without the procedure, Max would become paralyzed, and would need to be put to sleep. Rachel was devastated. Max was such an important part of her family. Her daughter absolutely adored him, and he was a big comfort to her children while their father was serving overseas. But she knew they just couldn’t afford the surgery he needed. Luckily she didn’t give up, and found the FACE Foundation. FACE was able to help, and Max is now enjoying his second chance at life!
