Lucy

Lucy is a seven-year-old Shih Tzu who presented sluggish and lethargic to Veterinary Specialty Hospital. After being transferred to the neurology department, it was confirmed that Lucy had intervertebral disc disease, or IVDD. She would need immediate surgery or risked losing the ability to walk.

Lucy is adored by her parents, two seniors on SSI. However, their fixed income didn’t allow them to afford such an unexpected expense. VSH referred Lucy’s parents to FACE and helped them with the application process. After discussing with Lucy’s parents and medical team, FACE made a pledge towards her care. Her family is ever thankful for the Save-A-Life network for coming together to help Lucy!
