Jackie

Jackie was taken to the emergency veterinarian after he was hit by a car. Jackie, who is normally an indoor cat, snuck out when his mom was taking out the garbage and she didn’t notice. She later found him dragging himself back to the garage and rushed him to the hospital to find him in need of a femoral head ostectomy, or FHO. Jackie’s mom, a single mother of two young children, was getting back on her feet and working odd jobs to make ends meet. Living paycheck to paycheck, she had no capacity to fund the cost of FHO surgery. The helpful hospital staff helped Jackie’s mom apply for FACE and we were shortly able to approve funding for his surgery! We’re so thankful our work enables us to keep families together.
