Candy

Candy the Border Collie belongs to a young military family. ‘Dad’ is a Marine and ‘Mom’ stays home with their infant son, who recently underwent brain surgery (we are so relieved to say he should be okay). The family’s backyard is next to a rural dirt road, and typically it is safe for Candy to run around. But one day, a car came down the road before Candy’s owners could call her away, and she was hit. She suffered a terrible degloving injury to her tail. Her tail would need to be amputated, as the bones and tendons were beyond repair. Fortunately, FACE was able to help this family. Now Candy is back at home, better than ever, and being a very good big sister to her human brother.
