Buddy

Lap dog Buddy is walking again with the help from Veterinary Specialty Hospital and FACE. The 3-year-old Miniature Dachshund couldn’t even stand when his owner brought him to the vet. Buddy cried out in pain when picked up, and the pain kept getting worse. The specialists at VSH found that Buddy had a herniated disk. Unable to afford surgery, Buddy’s owner tried pain medication, but it didn’t help. Her only other choice was to put Buddy to sleep, a gut wrenching decision she prepared herself to take. Before bringing Buddy to the vet, something made her call FACE. Within hours, Buddy was in surgery having his spine repaired. He is now back at home and is expected to make a full recovery.

‘Words cannot express how grateful I am to the FACE Foundation!… Buddy is very dear to me; but I could not let him suffer, and I couldn’t afford to give him the surgery he needed… The FACE Foundation agreed to pick up most of the cost of the MRI and surgery, leaving me with a smaller bill that I could afford. I’m so happy to be able to give my wonderful dog another chance at life!’ — Barbara J. Braybrook
