Benny

‘Dear FACE,

My name is James and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for saving the life of my little friend Benny the Cat. Benny was given to me as a kitten 3 years ago from my nieces. I have always been a Dog person but the place I was renting only allowed cats. Once I saw that cute little face and his curious nature I knew that I was now a cat person. Benny and I have been best buds ever since. I was always glad to go home after work knowing that Benny would be happy to see me. He makes me laugh all the time from his crazy antics.

A couple weeks ago I noticed Benny was not acting quite right. He seemed lethargic and kept running into his litter box but not going. He was not eating and would just lay at the side of his water dish, resting his head on the rim. This was no like him at all. I took him to the Veterinary Specialty Hospital in North County. After an examination I was told that Benny needed emergency surgery to clear his bladder. His body was going to go into shock if he didn’t get life saving surgery.

The cost for me was so much more than I would ever be able to afford or even try to borrow. I was already living paycheck to paycheck. There was absolutely nowhere for me to turn to for help. After much grief and tears I had come to the conclusion that my wonderful friend would have to be put down because I didn’t have the money to save his life. I have to say that was the worst feeling I have ever gone through in my entire life.

The Veterinary Hospital referred me to FACE for help. I applied for help through your organization. It was pure torture waiting to see if I would be approved. The answer came back YES they would pay for his surgery and hospital stay. It felt like a ton of bricks was lifted off my shoulders. Benny came through the surgery like a trooper. I am so thankful for your organization and I do plan on donating and getting others to donate to such a caring and loving group of people who believe that saving the life of an animal DOES MATTER! It must be so rewarding to be able to save lives on a daily bases. Not to mention extending the love of a pet and their owners for many more years to come.

Again thank you for all you do.’
James
