You can search their website for current alerts in your state and county. Alerts cover both bacterial and viral diseases. For example, a search of FACE’s local area today found that active positive cases of Leptospirosis have been reported in San Diego County this month.

You can also search the site for monthly tick-borne disease forecasts for your local area. These diseases include heartworm, Lyme disease, and other illnesses. Daily country-wide flea forecasts are also available.
