Lexy
Meet “Lexy!” This happy Boxer mix had something that can cause an unhappy injury – Happy Tail syndrome. This is most common in large breed dogs when they hit their wagging tail against a hard service. Poor Lexy developed a small cut on her tail which became infected. Even after taking antibiotics her wound wouldn’t heal and her tail needed to be amputated to prevent further spread of infection. Lexy’s “mom” was a single parent who lived paycheck to paycheck to support herself and her young son and the cost of Lexy’s surgery just wasn’t doable for her. Fortunately, the veterinarians at ABC Veterinary Hospitals were able to work with FACE to help get Lexy the care she needed. Thank you to our Save-A-Life Partners for working with us to help people and their beloved pets!
