Knuckles
This charming seven-year-old shih tzu is Knuckles! One day Knuckles seemed lethargic and had some weakness in his hind legs so he visited the family veterinarian. They gave him medication for some back pain, but only a few days later, he was dragging both rear legs and completely paralyzed. Knuckles’ “mom” rushed him to the Veterinary Hospital of San Marcos where they diagnosed him with IVDD. This spinal disc disease can cause permanent paralysis if left untreated. Knuckles’ mom relies on a fixed income to make ends meet due to a permanent disability. She could not afford the emergency surgery needed to save her dear little boy. Fortunately, our vet partner and Life Sponsor, Veterinary Specialty Hospital, referred her to FACE and Knuckles received the necessary surgery to save his legs and his life!
