Kikka

This beautiful German Shepherd/Malamute mix is “Kikka!” Kikka has been with her family for over 7 years and brightens their lives every day. One day, Kikka’s “dad” noticed his happy girl was acting lethargic and took her to the vet. Kikka had never been spayed and thus developed Pyometra, an infection in her uterus. Without emergency surgery to have it removed, Kikka had no chance of surviving and her last days would be numbered and very painful. Kikka’s “dad” was a full-time pharmacy technician as well as a health administration grad student. He supported and lived with his mom, who was disabled and depended on social security income. He had no idea how he was going to come up with the money to cover the cost of Kikka’s emergency vet care. Luckily, our Save-A-Life partner Mohnacky Animal Hospital of Vista referred this family to FACE and after submitting an application, they were approved to receive funding for Kikka’s Pyometra surgery! FACE is grateful to our donors and vet hospital partners who make Success Stories like this one possible.
