FACE grantee “Babs” is the biggest sweetheart! She had been enjoying life with her family for nearly three years when an emergency condition threatened to tear them apart. Babs was pregnant and when labor began it became clear she was in distress and would be unable to birth her puppies on her own. The vet determined she needed an emergency cesarean section surgery but Babs’ family was bankrupt and had no financial means to pay for it. Overcome with despair, they pleaded with the hospital for other options besides euthanasia.
