Service Dog in Training Provides Comfort for Health Professionals During COVID-19 Crisis
Doctors, nurses, and other medical personnel are on the front lines of the Coronavirus pandemic. A one-year old yellow Lab named Wynn is providing much-needed emotional comfort for staff at Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado.
According to a story on CNN, Wynn’s trainer (who is also a doctor) says that Wynn’s presence is helping staff ground themselves during a time of great stress.
Wynn is available in the hospital’s social work office, and with thorough handwashing and proper social distancing, staff can stop by for a visit with her when needed.
Wynn is from Canine Companions for Independence, a well-known organization that provides free service dogs for people with disabilities.
