With 2014 rapidly coming to a close, it’s time to recap the most popular pet names of the year.  Drumroll, please!

Kittens:

According to vetstreet.com, the most popular female kitten names are Bella, Luna, Lucy, Kitty, Elsa, Daisy, Lily, Callie, Lilly (note the spelling difference!) and Gracie.

The most popular male kitten names are Oliver, Milo, Leo, Charlie, Max, Simba, Tiger, Smokey, Jack and Kitty.

In 2014, similar to other years, kitten names tend to reflect trends in pop culture, such as the movies Twilight and Frozen.

Puppies:

Vetstreet has also listed the most popular puppy names of the year.

Top female puppy names are Bella, Daisy, Lucy, Molly, Sophie, Sadie, Lola, Zoey, Luna and Chloe.

The top male puppy names of the year are Max, Charlie, Rocky, Zeus, Buddy, Cooper, Duke, Bear, Bentley and Toby.  Max has been the number one name for an impressive 9 years in a row!
