This big boy is Oscar!  For the past 4 years, Oscar has been the devoted companion of a San Diego military spouse whose husband is often away on Marine deployments.

Recently Oscar unexpectedly got a collapsed lung.  His veterinarians had no idea why this happened (this is called a spontaneous pneumothorax, which is more common in large, deep-chested dogs), but Oscar needed surgery to treat his veterinary emergency.

Our partners at California Veterinary Specialists put Oscar’s family in touch with FACE and we were able to help cover the costs of Oscar’s surgery.
