This sweet kitty is Lucy, pictured with her best friend Mikey!  Lucy recently fell ill, she was lethargic and unable to hold down food.  The veterinary team at VCA California Veterinary Specialists in Murrieta, CA found that Lucy swallowed a foreign object and had to have it surgically removed.

A previous health emergency for one of Lucy’s human family members made it difficult for them to afford the full cost of the surgery.  Thanks to a FACE grant, Lucy was able to have the surgery she needed and is now doing well:

“We just got home from visiting Lucy! She made it through surgery and has been doing well today. She was happy to see us, but my son was absolutely elated! They’re best buds and seeing her sick has been really tough on him. We cannot thank you enough for helping us get her through this!!”
