Inside the Mind of a Cat is a new documentary now streaming on Netflix that explores the science of the sometimes-mysterious cat.

Veterinarian Dr. Bruce Kornreich, director of the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine Feline Health Center, is featured in the film. He describes its purpose: “It’s about what makes cats special – what’s unique and cool about cats with respect to their behavior, their anatomy and their physiology, and how cats have integrated into our society.”

Topics covered include the latest research on feline genetics, behavior, and physiology. Researchers shed light on the science behind everything from cats’ relationship with humans and their personalities to their whiskers and meows.

“We want to inform the viewer,” Dr. Kornreich says, “but also make them realize how incredible cats are, to make people say, ‘Wow, that is really cool.’”
