Thinking about adopting a new dog or cat?  Saturday August 15th is Clear the Shelters Day.  Animal shelters all across the U.S. are participating in this event, with the goal of finding permanent homes for as many pets as they can.

Hundreds of shelters around the country are reducing adoption fees for this one-day event.  Clear the Shelters Day is sponsored by NBC and Telemundo television stations.  Check out their website for a map of participating shelters near you.

Here in the San Diego area, friend of FACE Dagmar Midcap, a meteorologist on the local NBC station, is helping to spread the word about Clear the Shelters Day.  Animal shelters all across San Diego County will be participating.
