Sia: 7-year-old Domestic Longhair
Diagnosis: penetrating thoracic wounds & fractured ribs due to coyote attack
Procedure: exploratory thoracotomy & wound closure
Sia is a loving cat with the most beautiful blue eyes and a luxurious long coat. He has been his owner’s beloved companion for over seven years after being rescued as a tiny kitten from a drainpipe at just 12 weeks old. Sadly, Sia experienced a frightening encounter with a coyote. During the struggle, he sustained multiple broken ribs and severe injuries to his chest. After depleting her savings and maxing out her CareCredit to cover his initial stabilization and treatments, Sia's mom found herself unable to afford the surgery he urgently needed. She worked full-time, but the cost of his treatment far exceeded what she could have ever anticipated, leaving her heartbroken and overwhelmed with a desperate need for help. Fortunately, FACE came to the rescue, and Sia is now all patched up and home purring again.

From Sia's family post surgery:
“Sia had his follow-up visit and all his stitches removed! He is letting his mama give him his medications and a warm compress for his surgery area and appreciates the extra cuddles and pets, as well as continued tucking of blankets around him so he stays cozy. I am extremely grateful that the FACE Foundation generously helped with the cost of his surgery! I am SO grateful he is on the road to recovery!!”
