Deebo: 7 ½ month old Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix
Diagnosis: legg calve perthes disease
Procedure: femoral head osteotomy (FHO)
At only 7 1/2 months old, adorable Deebo began to limp in pain. Sadly, the X-rays revealed Legg Calve Perthes disease, where part of his thigh bone had deteriorated due to a lack of blood flow. Deebo needed urgent surgery to remove the damaged part of the hip joint—without it, he would be in constant pain and unable to live life as an active and happy pup. His family was devastated, as they had no way of covering the full cost of his treatment. Luckily, the were referred to FACE, and little Deebo got a second chance at life.
