There was a very special delivery at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park recently.  A litter of 10 dhole pups was born…the largest litter ever born in the United States!  Dholes are also known as Asiatic wild dogs, a beautiful but endangered canid species from eastern and southern Asia.

The puppies were born to the dominant female of the park’s resident pack.  Like other canids, the rest of the pack will participate in the care of this large group of adorable pups.
