Theo is decked out and ready for the holidays now, but there was a real possibility he would not have made it to Christmas this year. After swallowing a rope toy, Theo’s life was on the line. With a foreign body obstructions such as this, the longer the patient has to wait to get surgery, the higher the risk of irreversible damage to the intestines. Thankfully, Veterinary Specialty Hospital- North County referred Theo’s family to FACE. Our after-hours team was able to review and approve his case in time for him to get the care he needed.
