Athena

Adorable “Athena” and her human mom are the best of friends. They shared countless memories together over 4 years and never imagined anything would come between them. One day, Athena became very sick and her “mom” was heartbroken to discover she would need a surgery that costs thousands of dollars. At that time, she was in a transition period in her life and didn’t have any savings for something so unexpected. She couldn’t bear the thought of relinquishing Athena or worse, putting her sleep because of financial limitations. Fortunately, Save-A-Life partner Banfield Pet Hospital in El Cajon contacted FACE and we were able to team up and pay for Athena’s surgery! Not only was Athena’s life saved, but she was able to stay with her mom in the only home she had ever known. Thank you for making this possible, Banfield!
