During graduate school she also worked as an outreach counselor for The Wistar Institute on the University of Pennsylvania campus helping patients and their families find clinical trials and information on their life threatening diseases or disorders. This was the beginning of her career in the clinical research field. In 1999, she moved to San Diego and started working for a local pharmaceutical company. It was in 2005 when she met her husband Jared at a local medical device company. They married in 2008 and have three children with fur – Maxwell, Mr. Peabody and Ralph all of which are rescues. Heidi is an advocate for animals as well as children. She donates to ASPCA, The Humane Society and Best Friends and St. Judes. When she first moved to San Diego she volunteered with Temple Solel as a youth group leader for ages 11-13 and currently volunteers with the Jewish Family Services as a Big Pal for the last three years. In addition to her busy schedule she also started her own event planning business, A Red Carpet Affair where she donates her services to charities like FACE and the Jewish Family Services. She has been with team FACE since 2011 and was voted on the board in 2013. She now currently has six rescue dogs, all seniors.
“I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing organization. I personally understand how important animals are to ones emotional and physical well being. They need us as much as we need them and to be able to be a part of an organization that helps make sure the family unit stays in tact is such a blessing.”
